Skigard
"A Skigard can not last forever, you know," it says in the lyrics to Stanley Jakobsen. True, but a well built one can hold for years and years. Skigard is a very old way too fence, without nails, screws, and steel wire.
The ski guard was an effective fence against outfields, due to high poles and sloping skis. Today's function is mostly for decorating and marking boundaries. Skigarden makes a beautiful "frame" around a cottage property. There are many local varieties, they used the material that was most readily available.
I use poles of late-grown spruce / pine. The disc wood is split by late-grown spruce. Birch or willow is used for binding material. I also put in a screwed steel wire, as a fuse, in case a bend should break. Total height will be approx. 1.1-1.2 m. Can also be delivered with impregnated poles.
If you want to try yourself, I can sell you ski farm timber.
